Capitol Riverfront, DC
La Famosa
La Famosa opened as an all-day cafe in DC’s Navy Yard neighborhood, serving Puerto Rican coffee, sandwiches and entrees. Constructed on the ground floor of a new apartment building, The Bower, La Famosa’s construction included a new kitchen, bar, restrooms and seating both inside and on the exterior patio.
Chef Joancarlo Parkhurst’s restaurant features bright colors and a tropical feeling in the restaurant, which is named after the canning company his grandfather started in the 1920s.
